Description of Essay

What distinguishes the essay and not an essay? To answer this question can be done with reference to the opinions or formulations that have been there, but the opinions or formulas that already exist are often incomplete and sometimes contradictory, so it still contains shortcomings as well. For example regarding the size of essay, there is a claim-free, medium, and can be read at one sitting; about the content of the essay, there are states in the form of analysis, interpretation and description (literature, culture, philosophy, science), and thus also about the style and method of the essay, there is an opinion states that essay is free and there is also states regular.

You were warned since the beginning that in this book I have set a goal that familial and personal. It occurred to me that this book should be useful for you or shall glorify me. I mean it is beyond my ability. This book I dedicate to relatives and companion in order to useful for them, so that when I no longer are in the midst of them (one thing is for sure soon they experience), it is possible they could find in it some nature of habit and my sense of humor, and hopefully, by the way, the knowledge they have acquired about myself remain durable and always alive "(from" To The Reader ").

 

Then, in the 1600s, Sir Francis Bacon became the first British essayist. His book titled "Essays". Shape, length, clarity, and sentences rhythm of this essay is the standard for essayist afterwards. There are several formal essays, and there are several other essays that are informal. Informal essay form more easily written because it is more personal, witty, with a stylish form, the structure is not too formal, and speak. Formal essay form more frequently used by students, university students and researchers to perform his duties. Formal essays are distinguished from the more serious purpose, powerful, logical and longer.
